Cox dry heat sterilizer vs Dentronix 7000

Filed under: Dry heat sterilizers — Administrator @ 2:22 pm

Cox vs. Dentronix

1. Cycle Time: Cox unwrapped cycle time is 6 minutes plus 15 minutes cool down total 21 minutes: Dentronix cycle time is 45-55 minutes
2. Energy: The Cox heats up once a day, stays in stand by mode and uses very little energy, the Dentronix goes from zero to 400F every cycle and
is inefficient.
3. Cox raises room temperature no more than 1 degree because it vents the heat the Dentronix significantly warms a room
4. Packaging: The Cox can use bags, cassettes or unwrapped instruments Only the Dentronix 7000 can be used to bag instruments all other models
cannot
5. Handpieces can be sterilized in a Cox sterilizer, not in a Dentronix
6. Rapid Dry heat has no effect on instruments
7. No supplies or accessories needed with a Cox unit, Dentronix requires pliers racks

Cox Vs Steam or Chemical Vapor Sterilizers

1. There is no instrument dulling or corrosion using dry heat, the average ortho has 100 pliers which will require sharpening every year in a steam
unit and every 3 years in a Cox
2. There is no rusting of instruments
3. There is no regular maintenance necessary on a Cox unit, Steam and Chemical vapor sterilizers need regular cleaning and maintenance
4. No distilled water or chemicals required
5. Fast cycle means fewer instruments required
6. No smells or odors

Filter for Pelton Crane OCM & OCR

Filed under: Pelton and Crane — Administrator @ 1:52 am

I have seen so many sterilizers where the user does not change the chamber filter. What will happen is it will take much longer to fill the chamber with water, and often during the venting period, lots of the water will stay in the chamber.

What you should do, is remove the filter and put it in the ultrasonic cleaner for about 10 minute. That should clear it up. If it is still not clean, then just call us and order a new one for $15.00
